UMW is a community of Methodist women whose purpose is to know God and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ, to develop a creative, supportive fellowship, and to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

Fellowship and service activities include: the annual Woodside Fair, Woodside Thrift Shop, support of community ministries such as Board of Child Care and the Methodist Home in Washington, D.C.
